Wine maker, Gusbourne, receives Kings Award for Enterprise

Gusbourne Wines from the Ashford Borough has been awarded the Kings Award for Enterprise for international trade. Gusbourne, which exports globally across Europe, the USA, Japan, Canada, the UAE and New Zealand one of over 250 businesses to receive this award this year.

Eligible businesses are free to apply for one or more categories. The recipients pass a robust assessment process, judged by experts from industry, academia, the voluntary sector and senior officials in Whitehall. On that basis, each year, The King’s Awards for Enterprise recipients are recommended by the Prime Minister.

Jonathan White, CEO at Gusbourne, told KentOnline: “As an English wine producer, expanding our reach through international trade is a key focus and one of our strategic growth drivers.”

His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenants will be presenting the Awards to businesses locally throughout the year which are allowed to use the King’s Award emblem for the next five years.

161 businesses were acknowledged in the International Trade category, 59 in Innovation, 29 in Sustainable Development, and 8 in Promoting Opportunity through social mobility.
