Investing in Ashford
Ashford Borough Council takes a progressive approach to development and in the past two years the Ashford landscape has been transformed.
Property development companies including U+I, GRE Assets and Stanhope were attracted by the potential in town. Ashford’s Big 8 developments – some of the most high profile new developments in Kent – are now completed.
Among these, Connect 38 at Ashford’s Commercial Quarter opened in 2018 to much acclaim. Ashford Borough Council worked with Kent developer Quinn Estates and George Wilson Holdings to build the iconic business hub adjacent to Ashford International train station.

Elwick Place is a major leisure complex from developers Stanhope and is located opposite County Square shopping centre in the middle of the town. It comprises a Picturehouse cinema, hotel and restaurants and supports the area’s tourist and night-time economy.

Land at Victoria Way was chosen as the site for the state-of-the-art Curious Brewery, a first for Kent. Its location close to Ashford International train station, as well as accessibility to the M20 motorway influenced their decision. The brewery is open to the public for tours and will incorporate a restaurant, bar and shop.
Property development companies have also chosen Ashford as an investment location for new housing, namely the Finberry Ashford, Chilmington Green and Conningbrook Lakes communities that are being established.
Ashford presents one of the most compelling investment opportunities in the South East – a good choice of development land available, future-proofed infrastructure, a growing population and supported by a proactive local council.
