A new £9m Jaguar Land Rover dealership opening on five acres of the Waterbrook Business Park near Junction 10 of the M20 is a great example of how Ashford’s economy is motoring.
The new sales and service centre - set for launch in 2019 - will be run by Barretts Motor Group, one of Kent’s success stories in this sector, which already employs 70 staff at its existing Ashford home.
“Ashford is a great location. It’s got great infrastructure; it’s got great connectivity with the fast link to London a huge benefit.”Paul Barrett, Managing Director, Barretts Motor Group
With the opening of this new facility the company intends to create 10 new jobs immediately and a further 10 within two years at a location with easy access for both staff and customers.
Paul Barrett, Managing Director of Barretts Motor Group says this connectivity and the buzz around Ashford as a place that is making things happen - from jobs to new homes - has made the town a magnet for investment.
“Ashford is a great location because it’s got great infrastructure; it’s got great connectivity with the fast link to London a huge benefit,” he says.
“Of course, there’s a lot of homes being built, which gives us an opportunity to do business.”
Barretts Motor Group is one of the UK’s biggest dealerships, rated in the Top 200 dealer groups in the UK with an annual turnover of more than £200 million.
