RASE Productions Ltd: Powering Events from the Heart of Kent
From large-scale festivals to high-profile corporate events, RASE Productions Ltd is a key player behind the scenes, delivering the staging, sound, lighting, rigging, video and power that bring events to life across Kent, London and the wider UK. With an impressive client list including Pfizer, Leeds Castle, We Out Here Festival, OBE London and Light Fantastic Productions, the company specialises in supporting open-air events.
Four years ago, RASE Productions made the decision to relocate the business from Canterbury and Tonbridge to Ashford — a move that has had a lasting positive impact on the business. By consolidating into one central base, the company has significantly improved efficiency, reduced overheads and gained the space needed to grow.
We were looking for a semi-central location between our two previous offices, with strong transport links and good warehouse availability. Ashford is also a halfway point for our staff travelling from different areas of Kent. Ashford offers my company excellent transport links. It’s a central hub in Kent which allows us to access rural areas easily and quickly connect to the major motorway network.
Adam Ellis, Director
For a company working across multiple locations, accessibility is essential. Ashford’s position as a central transport hub plays a key role in RASE Productions’ success.
Beyond location, Adam explained that the availability of nearby services — from lorry repair shops to hardware suppliers — supports the day-to-day running of the business. He said: “Ashford benefits from a wide range of businesses, which means we can find the support and products we need to complete our jobs at short notice.”
The move to Ashford has also enhanced the day-to-day working experience for the team. He said: “I also personally enjoy the fact that the high street is very close to our business location, so it’s easy to step out of the office for a change of scenery.”
RASE Productions has also benefitted from local business support initiatives, including the Scale Up Ashford programme — designed to help businesses grow and develop. “Subsidising the Scale Up Ashford scheme has been a huge benefit for me and my business. It’s allowed me someone to talk to who sits outside of the day-to-day and offers a supportive network of other businesses facing similar challenges.”
ScaleUp Ashford is a one year, 80% funded* programme of support for a maximum of six businesses in Ashford that have the capacity and ambition to grow. Delivered by the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce and part-funded by Ashford Borough Council, the ScaleUp Ashford programme gives businesses up to 20 hours of one-to-one support and 12 hours of peer networks over a 12-month period. Programmes like this help businesses navigate growth with confidence. RASE Productions Ltd is a great example of a business thriving in Ashford — taking advantage of its strategic location and supportive environment. As the company continues to grow and deliver events across the UK, it highlights the role Ashford plays in enabling businesses to scale, collaborate and succeed.
