Primark is Coming to County Square, Ashford
Posted on 18 June 2026The announcement that Primark is set to open a new store in County Square is welcome news for Ashford’s business community, bringing fresh confidence, investment and future footfall to the heart of the town centre.
Expected to open in the second half of 2027, the store will occupy the former Debenhams and Select units, which will be combined to create a 29,000 sq. ft. retail space across almost half of the upper oval. The arrival of a major national retailer represents an important vote of confidence in Ashford as a shopping and business destination.
For local businesses, Primark’s presence has the potential to increase visitor numbers, support linked trips across the town centre and encourage more people to spend time in Ashford. The new store will offer fashion, kidswear, beauty, lifestyle and homeware ranges, alongside Click & Collect, adding to County Square’s existing retail mix of more than 45 stores.

County Square Centre Manager Stacey Bell described the announcement as a fantastic boost for the shopping centre, providing more choice for shoppers while supporting and creating jobs for the local community.
