New Aldi Store Opening in Ashford
Posted on 9 October 2026Ashford’s retail offer is set to grow with the opening of a brand-new Aldi store on Canterbury Road at 8am on Thursday 22nd October.
Led by Store Manager Matt Williamson, the store will support 35 jobs for people from the local community, providing a welcome boost for employment in Ashford. Applications and further information about Aldi store roles are available here.
As part of Aldi’s investment in local communities across the UK, the new store will offer more customers access to Aldi’s high quality, low-price products. In fact, consumer group Which? confirmed Aldi as the UK’s Cheapest Supermarket for 2025* - the fifth year in a row that it has been awarded this title.
Customers will be able to choose from a wide range of products, including fresh British meat, weekly offers, Aldi’s award-winning Specially Selected range, exclusive beers, wines and spirits, and a convenient Food to Go section. The store will also feature Aldi’s popular Specialbuys every Thursday and Sunday, bringing further choice and value to local shoppers.
We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Ashford. It’s set to be a special day and having Paralympic hero Oliver Lam-Watson join us will make it a morning to remember.
Matt Williamson, Aldi Store Manager
To celebrate the partnership between ParalympicsGB and Aldi, Matt Williamson and his team will be joined by Paralympic silver medallist Oliver Lam-Watson to celebrate the store opening by cutting the all-important ribbon on opening morning. Oliver will also give away complimentary bags of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s famous Super 6 range to the first 30 customers in the queue.
I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store; it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of ParalympicsGB.

The new store is also creating opportunities to support Ashford’s voluntary sector by inviting local charities and food banks to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that connects businesses with charitable organisations.
Registered charities will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, including fruit, vegetables and baked goods, seven days a week. Ashford organisations interested in partnering with the new Aldi store can email aldi@neighbourly.com.
The new store will be located on Canterbury Road, Kennington, Ashford, TN24 8QQ, and will open at the following times: Monday to Saturday: 08:00–22:00, Sunday: 10:00–16:00
