Ashford named in Top 10 of Property Week’s Hot Housing Index 2021

In the Hot Housing Index 2021, Property Week has named Ashford among the top 10 locations for best build to rent investment opportunities.

The build to rent sector has been growing rapidly over the past few years for both residents and investors. In fact, research by the British Property Federation revealed that 188,456 homes were complete, under construction or in planning across the UK in Q1 2021, marking a 21% increase on the previous year.

It is the growth in this sector that led CACI to compile the data on behalf of Property Week. District and unitary authority locations were judged according to five factors including annual rent, affordability, rental yields, number of people likely to relocate to the area and population growth over a 10 year period.

The research also showed that transport links, proximity to green space and the quality of local amenities were important factors when choosing a build to rent location. Ninth on the Hot Housing Index 2021, Ashford has plenty to offer to investors and residents alike.
