Ashford Business Continues Expansion

Ashford-based HR GO plc has secured its eighth acquisition in 12 months by signing up Mai Day Recruitment Services. The latest addition to the Kent, national and international recruitment and business services group extends its reach to Watford and Huntingdon. The £85m turnover group, founded in Dartford in 1957, continues to expand by joint venture partnerships, acquisitions and organic growth.

Cindy Hare, managing director HR GO Recruitment, welcomed the Mai Day teams to the Group. She said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for both of us to expand our services into new areas. Mai Day has achieved considerable success with clients and candidates and we look forward to continuing that success under the HR GO Recruitment brand.” All directors and employees would be retained and offered the opportunity to work within the HR GO Group, she added.

Elizabeth (Liz) Braiden set up Mai Day with Jacky Lloyd in 1991. They and fellow director James Braiden retain a significant minority stake in the JV. The business employs twelve.

Liz said: “We’re very excited about joining the HR GO Group. We want to expand and they will help us do it. We have a family culture and teaming up with a company with strong ethical values was important to us. We felt it would be a good marriage and that’s exactly what it promises to be.”
